Who I Am:

Hello, my name is Shenika Winn. I am a mother of two wonderful children, and I am a big believer in the use of alternative medicine as opposed to traditional care. I studied Massage Therapy at Keiser Career College, where I graduated in September of 2003. I am licensed to practice in the state of Florida as well as nationally certified by the NCBTMB. My training includes, but is not limited to, swedish massage, deep tissue, pregnancy and infant massage, sports massage, neuromuscular massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, hot stones, aromatherapy, reflexology, various body treatments and spa treatments. I also have previous experience in medical massage with a local occupational and neurological center, where I treated patients for injuries and other various medical conditions through the use of massage, hot/cold therapy, therapeutic ultrasound therapy, paraffin therapy, electric muscle stimulation, and other forms of manual manipulation. I am also currently employed with The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa as a spa therapist while I attend school to earn my B.S. in Alternative Medicine and Master's degree in Oriental Medicine.

I started Nirvana Massage in January of 2004 because I had a vision of building an exceptional practice. I enjoy having a home practice and being able to provide clients with a safe, quiet place to enjoy their spa experience without the stress of loud stylists, doors slamming, smelly chemicals in the air, and appointment desk mix-ups that we all have experienced on occasion. I also realize each person's individual choices to receive their services at home as opposed to traveling outside the home in order to relax. That is why I also travel to my clients' homes or offices as well. As a massage therapist, I take pride in being able to provide great services to my clients and patients in a secure environment. I love caring for people and being able to provide physical, mental, and spiritual well-being by promoting the incorporation of bodywork, healthy living, and nutrition as complementary and preventative medicine for a more healthy and joyful lifestyle. I also continue to add to my expertise as a massage therapist through continued education.
